Healthcare Facilities in a Post-COVID-19 World

In recent months we have all been overwhelmed learning about this coronavirus and responding to it in our facilities. Communities have already started to phase back to life before COVID-19. But what will happen after the dust has settled, after this pandemic? Will some of the recent operational and facility changes remain, will everything go back to normal, or what might the new normal look like?

This presentation will explore a range of ideas about the future of healthcare facilities in a post-COVID-19 world. Topics will include a brief historical perspective, planning for surges, designing in flexibility, site implications, the patient experience, and the path of a potentially airborne-infectious patient. We will also present facility changes we believe will be among the key discussion points moving forward, including HVAC. We will also leave time for audience participation so we can learn from each other.
