May 12th at 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM

Crowne Plaza, Reliant Park/Medical Center

8686 Kirby Drive, Houston, TX 77054

The new CMS and TJC Alternate Equipment Management/Maintenance (AEM) Program requirements represent a sea change for hospital utility system management documentation. These changes are strongly driven strongly by CMS, specifically the CMS 2014 Survey & Certification Letter S&C:14-07-Hospital and its enclosed Appendix A interpretive guidelines. As a result the program is equally applicable to all hospitals regardless of the chosen accrediting organization.

Some hospitals are simply deciding to migrate to following manufacturer's recommendations across the board because it is too difficult to comply with all of the program requirements. That approach ignores the new documentation requirements that apply even in that event, and it is not necessary.

This topical and detailed session covers dozens of new and changed requirements in a clear easy-to-follow approach.
